This 1-1/2-quart saucepan is great to have on hand when cooking smaller portions of lentils, rice, or vegetables. Made with the same excellent commercial-style quality as Viking’s ranges, this premium cookware is designed to last a lifetime. The exclusive 7-ply construction features several interior layers of an aluminum alloy for fast and even heat distribution and for a nice, weighty feel to the cookware. The pan’s exterior is gleaming 18/10 stainless steel that looks too pristine to cook on but rewards you with excellent performance when you do. A brushed stainless-steel cooking surface preserves the pan’s beauty and makes cleanup a bit easier. The ergonomically designed cast stainless-steel handles stay cool on the stovetop and offer a secure grip when removing the pan from the burner. An added bonus to Viking cookware is that it can be used on any cooking surface, from the most common gas and electric ranges to more obscure ceramic, halogen, and induction stoves. This saucepan is oven- and broiler-safe and but requires handwashing. Viking cookware is made in Belgium and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

5Viking Pots Rule!
By Rhonda H. Valdez
They hold heat so well, cook with less water, less time and clean so easily. Even if you mess up and burn them, everything comes right out. I love all my Viking pots + pans. Every single one of them.

4Great Pan
By Gary L. Kennedy
This pan completes our set of Viking pans. They are great quality if you like scrubbing. But, that is what you expect for the look and feel of steel, no memory loss from aluminum and no non-stick stuff getting in the food.

4great pan - hard to season
By V. Wiedemann
These Viking stainless pans are wonderful in some ways. They have flat bottoms which are essential on a flat ceramic cook top. You really do cook in less time, using less water and heat. However, they are very hard to season and I had to try two different methods. Adding more oil than normal at the beginning of cooking, heating that and then adding the food works very well.

I have not tried the really expensive "waterless" 5 or 7 layer stainless pans, but for the price I think these Viking pans are excellent if you are willing to take the extra time to initially season them, plus the extra time it takes each time you wash and dry them to keep them looking nice and shiny.

If you have been using non stick cookware for several years as I did be prepared to learn how to cook all over again. Once you do, you will be very pleased with the pans and know that you are no longer eating chemical coating with your food.
